AEV ended the first quarter of 2017 with PHP4.7 billion net income, a 7% decrease year-on-year. The company recognized non-recurring losses of PHP442 million (versus last year’s gain of PHP186 million) coming from forex losses recognized upon revaluation of dollar-denominated liabilities and mark-to-market losses on derivatives.
