AEV ends first half of 2019 with PHP9 billion net income

AEV ended the first half of 2019 with a net income of PHP9 billion, 11% lower than the PHP10.1 billion recorded last year. Without one-off gains, AEV’s core net income stood at PHP8.9 billion, 16% lower from PHP10.6 billion year-on-year (YoY). AEV recorded consolidated EBITDA of PHP26.5 billion during the first semester of 2019, a 5% decrease from the PHP28 billion recorded last year.

Iligan yellow corn farmers advance into entrepreneurship

On the 25th year of Hindang Banana Farmers Multipurpose Cooperative (Hindang MPC), its members crossed a milestone by enriching what they already knew about corn production. The 35 farmers, who were among those affected by the Marawi siege, completed a training session on land preparation for crop utilization, crop management, and yield improvement presented by Aboitiz Foundation and Pilmico.

Aboitiz Construction creates shared value by generating thousands of jobs for Filipinos

Aboitiz Group, through its construction arm Aboitiz Construction, Inc. (ACI) is one of the biggest employers of Filipino skilled workers posting 6,598 jobs in 2018 and foresees hiring 4,000 more in 2019 to meet job orders and contracted projects both for its local and international clients. About eighty-five percent of these jobs are mobilized for its Visayas and Mindanao operations.

AEV net income up 3% in 2018

AEV posted a 3% increase in its net income for the full year 2018 to PHP22.2 billion from PHP21.6 billion in 2017 — with the power business unit remaining the biggest income contributor, accounting for 73%, while banking and financial services, food, land, and infrastructure BUs pitched in 16%, 7%, 3%, and 1%, respectively.

Aboitiz launches sustainable livelihood programs in Marawi

The Aboitiz Group launched a number of sustainable livelihood programs to help Maranaos start anew, one year after Marawi City’s liberation from the armed siege. Dubbed “Kawiyagan: Biyaya ng Pagbabago”, the program is a series of sustainable livelihood initiatives for the residents of Sagonsongan Resettlement Site, which temporarily houses thousands of displaced families. It complements the government’s efforts to help the once bustling capital of Lanao Del Sur get back on its feet.

AEV’s nine-month net income up by 9% to PHP17.3 billion

On a year-to-date basis, AEVs net income for the first nine months of 2018 was PHP17.3 billion, 9% higher than the PHP15.9 billion recorded last year, while core net income stood at PHP17.7 billion, up 4% from PHP17.1 billion last year. Gains from the company’s Power, Food, and Land strategic business units contributed to the increase.
