Pilmico Congratulates First Graduates of Wooden Spoon Business Innovation Center

Aspiring entrepreneurs with a passion for baking have been given a headstart with the support of Pilmico and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Women’s Center’s (TESDA-Women’s Center) Bakery and Pastry Production Training at the Wooden Spoon Business Innovation Center at the TESDA Compound. Since its inauguration in December last year, the facility has seen its first 50 graduates march and get certified by TESDA last July 5.

Agri expo brings new livelihood opportunities

As part of championing sustainable livelihood and backyard farming throughout the country, Pilmico held its Agri & Livelihood Expo in Balaoan, La Union and brought together farmers as well as existing and aspiring agri-entrepreneurs to a one-day trade exposition with free workshops on putting up a business, financial solutions, livestock raising (hogs and poultry), animal nutrition, including packaging and labeling of goods.

Aboitiz launches sustainable livelihood programs in Marawi

The Aboitiz Group launched a number of sustainable livelihood programs to help Maranaos start anew, one year after Marawi City’s liberation from the armed siege. Dubbed “Kawiyagan: Biyaya ng Pagbabago”, the program is a series of sustainable livelihood initiatives for the residents of Sagonsongan Resettlement Site, which temporarily houses thousands of displaced families. It complements the government’s efforts to help the once bustling capital of Lanao Del Sur get back on its feet.

AEV’s nine-month net income up by 9% to PHP17.3 billion

On a year-to-date basis, AEVs net income for the first nine months of 2018 was PHP17.3 billion, 9% higher than the PHP15.9 billion recorded last year, while core net income stood at PHP17.7 billion, up 4% from PHP17.1 billion last year. Gains from the company’s Power, Food, and Land strategic business units contributed to the increase.

In the next four months, AboitizPower subsidiary Therma Visayas Inc. (TVI) will work hand in hand with the Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (AFI) and Pilmico to provide high energy biscuits to these schoolchildren, with the main objective of being able to give nourishment not only to the body, but also to the mind.

Building a future from livelihood starter kits

At the core of every successful community is a group of people working hand-in-hand towards a single vision. This is how one would describe the members of two Ozamiz-based organizations, Unity Association and Clarin National High School Family Multipurpose Cooperative, who found new livelihood opportunities at Pilmico’s Mahalin Pagkaing Atin Food, Agri, and Livelihood Expo last June at their city.

Aboitiz provides first sustainable livelihood in Marawi

As the affected residents like Noni and Jasmine cannot solely depend on government financial assistance, the Aboitiz Group sought to create sustainable forms of livelihood for them through Pilmico and Aboitiz Foundation. Pilmico also provided training for Noni, Jasmine, and their fellow Marawi residents on how to bake and manage a bakery. It will also monitor the progress of the bakery business.

Hedcor creates livelihood opportunities in Benguet

Hedcor, in partnership with Aboitiz Foundation, Aboitiz food business unit Pilmico Foods Corporation, Benguet Technical School, and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Benguet, recently held a National Certification (NC) II Training on Bread and Pastry Production, which was participated by 25 members of its partner cooperatives in La Trinidad and Tuba, Benguet.

From noble warriors to noble bakers

Sgt. Eric Ubalde was chosen as one of the beneficiaries of the Noble Bakers Project of the Aboitiz Foundation in partnership with the SOCOM Foundation, under which he, along with 59 other wounded soldiers, underwent a comprehensive bakery management training program provided by Pilmico Foods Corporation.

Pilmico joins RAFI outreach caravan

Held in Poro Municipal Gym in Camotes Island in Cebu, Pilmico participated in the outreach program by sponsoring a number of seminars on livestock raising and animal nutrition. In the coming months, Pimico will also be present in Naval and Tacloban – the next two locations for RAFI’s outreach caravan this year.

Partner coop runs successful faith-based rehab program

In July 2016, the V On Wings Producers Cooperative, a partner of Pilmico, welcomed 20 drug rehab patients and took on the responsibility of guiding them through a faith-based rehabilitation program called Dare To Live, a program that went on to be awarded by Western Union and IBEX Global’s worldwide Chain of Betters campaign.

PANC rolls out its Vet Care Caravan

This activity, supported by the local government of Compostela, is one of Pilmico’s programs to support backyard hog raisers in the country. The Pilmico team was able to provide free veterinary medicines and basic farm equipment to beneficiaries.
