SNAP-Benguet and SNAP-Magat celebrated Earth Day with simultaneous clean-up drives held in Ambuklao, Binga, and Magat on April 22. A total of 79 volunteers joined the activities. Local residents and members of LGUs and NPC joined the clean-up in Benguet while military personnel joined the activity in Magat.
Hedcor joins the global initiative to fight climate change during the Earth Day Celebration. A group of volunteers in Davao del Sur helped in priming tree seedlings to be planted within and the nearest area of Mount Apo Natural Park.
In Davao City, the team trooped to the Aboitiz Cleanergy Park and planted 100 mangrove propagules. Aside from tree planting, the chance to tour the park widened the awareness of the employees on the importance of sea creatures in the ecosystem which could help preserve their existence.
With host communities from Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur and Talomo, Davao City, team members held clean up activities in Sibulan and Talomo rivers on March 22. Both rivers generate electricity to provide power to the developing areas of Sta. Cruz and Davao. Sixty-five volunteers scoured 800 meters of Sibulan river to collect 105 kgs of non-biodegradable and 15 kgs of biodegradable wastes. In Talomo river, 29 kilos of trash were collected.
